a) Assist educators and leaders in securely collecting and analyzing student data.

This proposal comes from a direct result of wanting to change the Advisory Program at Patriot. Data was collected on the 2023-24 Ninth Grade class to see what support was necessary. Along with using Edmentum, mentors, and other support systems, Patriot devised a plan to start High School strong and remedy the issues seen since the infliction of Covid.
School Status is PWCS's newest platform that allows central office employees, building administrators, teachers, and support staff to "gather actionable insights, engage families, and support educator growth". While access to School Status is tiered, the ability to pull data remains available to all employees. This includes data pulled from the Student Information System, Attendance and Discipline programs, Learning Management System, State & Local Assessments, Benchmarks, and Communication metrics. One of the targets for Patriot High School is to improve attendance and increase communication to parents. While implementing various programs aimed to increase attendance, Administrators are able to see real-time attendance tracking and collect data on whether those programs are working or not. There is also the ability to go in and
School Status was introduced late in the 2022-23 school year and implemented fully in 2023-24. There was very little training made available with the exception of the online Learning Lab through School Status. This provided me with a fantastic opportunity to train the Administration and Teachers in the building. The first training involved Guidance Counselors, Secretaries, and Administration. That was then made available to the Faculty during a Faculty Meeting. PWCS Staff were tasked with completing individual online training for School Status, but it wasn't until they received the in-person training from me that they finally understood how it worked. This has been one of the best data collection tools we have used in the building and I am proud to be a part of the team that gets to assist with the implementation and use of it at Patriot High School.
The ISTE standard that I struggle with most is being a Data-Driven Decision-Maker. A lot of the data that can be collected is not accessible from my position. I am able to collect some data through the different information systems that we have, however, for me to act on specific data that is directly pulled from classes is a difficult thing for me to do. SOL testing, AP testing, PSAT, SAT, Special Education, and other VDOE data is usually limited to Administration. I typically only receive this data by attending our weekly Administration meetings and weekly Instructional meetings with the Assistant Principals. This is one area in which I know I need to improve on. As I begin to think about next year, I know that I will invest a larger amount of energy and time into being a Data-Driven Decision-Maker.
